The DOD GS980D camera has a built-in super capacitor instead of lithium batteries. The supercapacitor ensures better protection against higher temperatures and there is no danger of damage or explosion as with classic batteries. It also provides a longer lifespan than dash cams with lithium-ion batteries.
In the event of an impact, emergency braking, or tilting of the car, it will automatically protect all saved and current records. Through this function, important files will not be deleted or overwritten, even when recording in a time loop.
When the storage space on the inserted micro SD card is full, it can automatically overwrite older files with newer ones, so the files are constantly re-deleted.
The car camera is equipped with the new H.265 compression, which ensures that recordings are saved in a smaller size. The recording in this compression will take up 30% less space on the memory card, while the image quality will remain preserved. So the memory card can fit much more recordings compared to the older H.264 compression. 1 minute takes about 215MB on the 4k front camera and about 70MB on the 1K rear camera.

The camera is intended for indoor use. The rear camera does not have suitable IP protection for outdoor use.
I haven't had a better Spick camera from DOD, and I've had enough of them
